Mumford and Sons

On Saturday I went to the Mumford and Sons concert with my sister and cousins. It was the best concert I have ever been to, ever. Mumford is even better live than on the radio or a CD, it was amazing. We had amazing seats (thanks Uncle Gerry!) and I had the best time with my girls!

 

They came back out and played two songs,  one with just the four of them around one mic, and the second completely acapella. It was beautiful I hope you enjoy!

 

I tend to overthink things...

This weekend has been beautiful and I am enjoying every minute of it! Worked a little yesterday got by hair done and did  some shopping/catching up on errands. Today I did my Jillian Michaels Power Yoga cleaned my apartment and I am going to lunch with my dear friend Erica this afternoon! Sounds perfect I know, but this weekend for some reason I've been conflicted on many topics.

First straws. Ok this may seem silly but I don't know where I stand on the straw debate these days. On one hand using a straw makes me drink more and faster which is good for why I need to hydrate, and bonus they help keep your teeth white if you drink a lot of tea's and coffees. First if you don't me I have a slight Starbucks green tea addiction, trenta green ice tea un-sweetened no water  is a sure fire way to make me one happy camper. So I have at least 4 a week (I make my own too don't worry I learned that trick) naturally I use a straw, but wait just a minute didn't I just read that using a straw can increase the wrinkles around your mouth?!? What's a tea drinkin', breakfast smoothie making girl supposed to do now!! Well I can't decide what to do about this, bother anyone else this much? Most likely not, I am a little quirky.

Next conflict I have is Facebook. Now I had de-activated my profile in January, I needed some space from the constant social media. I was getting sick of peoples rants, rude comments and just truly inappropriate etiquette. Lauren Conrad has a great article on social media etiquette you can read it here, she makes a good point in that once it is posted it can NEVER be forgotten or deleted. So true. Anyway I joined the living again about a week ago when I re-activated the site. First they have changed everything so much I didn't even know where to begin! I finally figured everything out and changed a bunch around, I was happy with it thinking ok I'll check it once a week or so. Then my mom calls me and tells me it has me listed as a "he". Ok that's random and an easy fix right, no it took me a week to figure it out! So my confliction with Facebook now is yes its a great way to stay in contact with my friends and family, but is it worth all the drama and gender mix-ups? I have decided it won't be back on my phone and I will only go on twice a week max. Hopefully I can stick to that I don't want to get sucked back into the dark hole of Facebook. Anyone else have similar feelings?

My other confliction this weekend, impulse buys at Trader Joes. That place always gets me! First impulse, fresh beautiful white peony's. Now I love flowers as you all know and buy them frequently so its not out of the norm for me. But as I was leaving the store a very nice older gentleman approached me and said "you know a man should always buy you flowers" and then he smiled and walked away. I completely agree with him, now mind you I don't have a man currently that would buy me flowers anyways but it made me think, is chivalry a dying art? And if its not, where do those men live? Second impulse buy, chocolate covered salted butterscotch caramels. Ok I guess that's not a huge conflict right they are pretty darn good and I've been doing so well I need a treat every once and a while!

Bikini Boot Camp

Good Morning!

Well it's Monday again, funny how that seems to keep happening around here. I don't know about any of you but lately I have been struggling to get into a workout/fitness routine. I used to be really aware of what I was eating and how much physical activity I was doing, but lately that has not been the case. I recently became a member of Lauren Conrad's website and blog. Let me tell you she is an inspiring person and is no longer that girl from The Hills! Anyways she is starting a Bikini Boot Camp today and I have decided to try it along with her. You can see the plan here, it seems very straight forward and hopefully it is something I can stick with! In addition to this I am going to try not eating out at all saving my waistband as well as  my wallet! Any one want to join me? I will be posting about my progress and maybe you can share your story with me as we try this together!

Spring

   Hi there,

I know its been a while since I've posted anything new (I seem to say this a lot...) but I am back! Spring is in full swing here on the Central Coast and I am loving it for many reasons. First wedding season is upon us and it is the most magical time of the year for me. Helping brides special day come true even in such a small way is amazing. As some of you may know since I started my new job in April I can no longer design on Fridays, I was heartbroken when I realized this. Fridays were the best day to me, being able to assist in creating beautiful arrangements, bouquets, and many other things each week was such a blessing in my life. Lucky for me I am still able to help on the day of the event and see it all come together. Yesterday was by far my most favorite wedding since I starting working the. It was breathtaking I hope you all check out the pictures on Festive Designs blog! Another reason I am loving this time of year is everything is in full bloom and just gorgeous, in spite of the allergies that accompany this time of year its still my favorite. There is something about this season that inspires me to be a better me, finish projects I've start long ago, and even start something new I haven't tried yet! So keep your eyes out for new things to come soon. Today being Mother's Day I can't not mention my own Mama. I am beyond blessed to have such  amazing Mother as well as Grandmothers and Aunts in my life that all have played a role in making me the person I am today. Mama I love you and I wish I could spend today with you but I know we will be together in a few weeks and I cannot wait! "Good News Daily"

Hi all! Well I have some very exciting news to share, I got a job!! Yes indeed I got my first full time big girl job, and the best part is I get to stay in my beloved San Luis Obispo!! I will be an Administrative Assistant in the corporate office of a company that specializes in learning centers. (For privacy reasons I will not post the name of the company) I am so very excited to start and my first day is Monday! I have a lot to do including getting finger printed and a shot, I haven't had a shot in a while so the nurse might see some tears from this 22 year old. The company is very well respected and has a wonderful feel to it, I mean they made a point to tell me most of the office furniture is from Pottery Barn. I LOVE PB and I may even get to do some shopping for other locations (swoon). It will be a bit of an adjustment for me, I will admit that I have gotten lazy and sometimes don't get our of bed until 8...yikes! Well this will whip me into shape soon and I am happy about that, I don't like being lazy. I do like the extra beauty sleep but it needs to stop. I am sad to be leaving the Plant Shop, its been my home for so long and of course we are just entering the best season! My favorite plant the Honeysuckle is bursting with buds and I hope it blooms by Saturday for me, I will snap some pictures to share, if you haven't seen one in bloom you are in for a treat! While I am sad to leave my beautiful flowers behind I am looking forward to this next step in my life. Having to think about 401 k's and insurance plans was not something I ever thought I would be doing right now but I am so thankful that I was able to find such a good and stable job in such a desirable location. So I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and great weekend!

Hello!

Hi all! I am so glad to be back, so much has happened since my last post. I do apologize for my lack of posting but I'm back now! February went by in a blur it may have been all the Valentines craziness but I am glad to say its over and now we are that much closer to spring! Some exciting news is I am typing on my brand-spankin' new laptop! Sadly my old one crashed for the last time last week and it was time for a new one, so now I get the shiny new windows 8 which I am still figuring out but the best thing is the touch screen! Wow its awesome I can't get over how far technology has come in the past few years. Tomorrow I start a week long internship working on an independent film project in the art department. Its very exciting and I will fill you all in as I go but as of now I don't really know what I got myself into!! So until next time I hope your last few days of winter are filled with fun and maybe a little bit of sunshine:)

New Look

Hello! Well I finally did it, I updated my blog! I am so proud of myself, who ever would have thought I who up until last year could barely email pictures figured out all this neat stuff! I have to hand it to Shabby Blogs they are responsible for most of the new pretties! I still have things I want to do and I am toying with the idea of changing the name of this blog just because well it may be time for a change (and I no longer live on Peach St). You may notice the quote, its one of my absolute favorites, if you watch Gilmore Girls you will recognize it. I feel it very much illustrates where I am in my life right now, I have no idea where I am going but I am open to any and all things! So here is to my new look and new adventures!

Happy 2013

Well it's been a few weeks and the wonderful season of Christmas has come and gone. I rang in this New Year with homemade chicken pot pie and classic movies accompanied by Robert Osborne. I think in fact I almost missed the stroke of midnight because I was so enthralled with Frank and Dino as they pulled off an unthinkable heist in Las Vegas. Hmm this exciting night is it a foreshadowing of my year to come? I would hope that at 22 years old I am not past the best years of my life. NO I will not stand for that!! Oh I am sorry for my outburst there my music got really loud and I felt the need to join in the loud volume. I got back to SLO on Sunday back to work Monday and am settling nicely into my old routine.Yesterday was an exciting day for me I got my haircut finally, 1 whole inch trimmed off of my head and I feel like a new person! It's the little things in life people. Well my hair girl is very sweet and talented and is the most amazing hair washer in the world, I almost fell asleep. She was asking me about my holidays and the like then halfway through the cut she stopped and asked me "Do you have any New Year resolutions?" It really made me think, wow for the first time in a long while I hadn't been waiting for midnight to start making changes in my life. Well that made me start thinking, thinking a lot and here's what it sounded like in my head. "Well I will loose 20 pounds by March, run a marathon in May, get a new job make lots of money in like a month then spend my summer travelling around Europe, become a movie star...." Then she turned the blow dryer on snapping me back to BlueBird Salon on Marsh St. I smiled at her in the mirror saying "not yet". As I walked home I really thought about it well some of my dream resolutions may seem a tiny bit out of proportion but in general I think I found my theme for the year. So all you Pretty Peach followers here it is, 2013 with be my year of "Most Improved". This year will be the year that I do everything I can to make me the best I can be, take risks, make changes and live the life I really want. So you might ask why am I a pretty private person telling all these people (or at least just my Mom Grandma and Aunt) my biggest resolution to date? Well you're all going to keep me accountable. I will need encouragement at times, praise during my triumphs and ideas when I all I can think of is laying on the couch watching an entire season of Vampire Diaries (which believe me is worth the eye candy). So I am a week late in starting but I am officially stating here and now that this will be my "Most Improved" year ever! I hope you all will follow me on this journey and share your resolutions or ideas with me. Here's to 2013 and all that it will bring for each and every one of us!
