New Ideas

This past week has been very busy for me, between school and rehearsals for the dance performance I am in I have been running around like crazy. In all the craziness I had the chance to get creative...I made a gourmet grilled cheese that is absolutely my new favorite and I got to design my Valentines Day arrangement for work!  First the sandwhich...
-Sourdough bread
-Butter
-Cheddar cheese
-Avocado
-Balsamic Vinegar
So delicious!
It allows for lots of creativity with different ingredients I can't wait to mix it up.
Next the flowers
-Bianca Candy roses
-White stock
-Dusty Miller
-Eucalyptus
-Silver Container

Romantic, Elegant, Rustic, I am very happy with the way it turned out!

rainy saturday

This wonderful rainy Saturday started off with rehearsal which went so well, its so nice being back on a stage! Then I was caught in a small downpour when I went downtown to Sephora, got new make-up wondered around a used bookstore with books literally spilling out of the shelves.Went in Pottery barn, I could spend hours in there, and found about 25 things I had to have...I left before I gave into temptation!
On my way home I found some flowers and decided to brighten up our apartment, now I am enjoying some tea while Adele plays on my new record player:)

Loving this rainy Saturday...

Carried Away

Have you ever opened a book and been completely carried away? I have, it happens to me every time I open a new book and read the first page. I am carried from my seemingly dull everyday life and I find myself living breathing the story. Some say I get to attached, others think its strange how I can disappear into another world so quickly. I fall in love with characters, become them, feel their pain, celebrate in their victories and am always wanting more. I love that I am able to be transported into a totally different world, being totally encompassed by the words on the pages in front of me. I have always been a big reader, taking my books into the restaurant while we waited, reading in the car, literally spending hours on end with my nose in a book. While I put up with some teasing, I think that has a huge impact on who I am today. Sometimes I feel that many people my age and younger don't read anymore, not for fun at least. Its sad what people are missing out on, the friends they could make and places they could visit without even leaving the house. I consider myself extremely blessed to have had such a love for literature in my life.

Most recently I finished the Hunger Games series, the most riveting books I have read in a long time. I could not put them down and when I finished them (while I may have not like the ending) I was left wanting more. I was lost in Panem and the times I had to put the books down and pull myself back to real life (school) were no fun, all I wanted was to go back! If you haven't yet read them. If you have read them please I am looking for someone to talk to them about!

Catch Up

It's been a while I know. Fall quarter ended very well and then the most wonderful time of the year began! I spent a lot of time baking, cooking, laughing, and spending as much time with my family as I could.

My wonderful sister and two cousins and I took a trip to Las Vegas two weeks before Christmas. It was my first time and it was so much fun! I must admit my favorite part was walking around all the hotels during the day. I saw some amazing floral arrangements that I thought I would share....

Made completely out of flowers and natural materials!
Hmmm must be a great place to be a florist!
